AIRNORTH CONNECTS DARWIN AND LOMBOK
Australian airline Airnorth is set to launch a new international route connecting Darwin and Lombok. Starting from 4 April 2025, Airnorth will operate twice-weekly flights between the two destinations, marking a significant boost in connectivity between Australia and Lombok.
This development comes as Lombok International Airport expands its capacity, with a runway extension from 2,750 meters to 3,300 meters, allowing the airport to accommodate larger aircraft such as the Boeing 777. The expansion enhances Lombok’s ability to welcome more international carriers and support the island’s growing tourism and business sectors.
Beyond international travel, Lombok is also experiencing a surge in domestic connectivity, with several airlines increasing their flight frequency throughout the first half of this year. This growing network reflects the island’s rising appeal, offering seamless access for both local and international visitors.
KUTA MANDALIKA AIMS TO PLANT 10,000 TREES
Kuta Mandalika is strengthening its vision as a Green Tourism Destination in Lombok through a large-scale tree-planting initiative, with a goal of adding 10,000 trees over the coming years.
This initiative underscores Lombok’s commitment to sustainable tourism, making tree-planting a key element of every event held in Kuta Mandalika. By fostering environmental awareness, encouraging community involvement, and promoting shared responsibility for nature, this effort not only preserves the region’s natural beauty but also enhances its appeal to visitors, ultimately contributing to the local economy.
