World-Class Tennis Arrives at Samara

We are thrilled to announce that Samara Lombok has been selected as the home of the first Rafa Nadal Tennis Center in Southeast Asia, bringing Rafa Nadal’s globally respected training methodology to the region for the very first time.

The Rafa Nadal Center, which operates flagship academies in Mallorca and Kuwait, has chosen Samara Lombok for its first Southeast Asian home—a significant endorsement of both our destination and Lombok’s long-term potential. It’s a milestone that further cements Samara as a world-class ecosystem of hospitality, sport, wellness and lifestyle, and reinforces the momentum carrying us toward our Q1 2028 opening.

At the Heart of Samara

Eight Championship Courts: Four world-class tennis courts and four padel courts, sitting at the centre of the destination.

Programmes for Every Player: Coaching for all ages and abilities, built on the methodology Rafa Nadal and his technical team developed over two decades on the professional tour.

Part of a Wider Playground: Joining our marine biology and watersports centre by Rascal Voyages and a football training centre anchored by a globally recognised club partner.

“Samara is built to be a playground in the truest sense — a place where guests can be as active as they wish, for as long as they wish, then come back together over a shared story. World-class tennis and padel sit right at its heart. Bringing Rafa Nadal’s methodology to South Lombok gives guests of all ages and abilities a sporting experience that is both rare in the region and deeply aligned with the destination we are building.”

— Steve Ebsworth, Co-Founder, Samara Lombok

“We’re very excited about the arrival of the first Rafa Nadal Tennis Center in Southeast Asia. Lombok is a destination with enormous international potential and we believe this project will help bring our methodology and our passion for sport to new generations of players and families from all over the world.”

— Maribel Nadal, Deputy General Manager, Rafa Nadal Academy

A Compelling Opportunity for Investors

The arrival of the Rafa Nadal Tennis Center strengthens Samara Lombok’s residential proposition for lifestyle investors and second-home buyers seeking early-stage access to an emerging luxury destination. With a globally recognised sporting institution now part of the ecosystem, Samara Lombok’s international credibility — and its appeal as a long-term lifestyle asset — continues to grow, backed by the rapid rise of South Lombok’s tourism market and ongoing infrastructure investment.

Samara Lombok will feature 500 villas in total, with 150 opening in the initial phase, available across 12 designs ranging from two to five bedrooms. A limited number of turnkey villas remain available for investors seeking early access, offering fixed prices, milestone payments, a 15- to 18-month build timeline, and a 90-year leasehold — significantly longer than the typical 25- to 30-year leases found across Bali and much of Indonesia.
