Direct Singapore-Lombok Flight Relaunch
Scoot’s Airbus A320 in Lombok International Airport
Singapore – Lombok flights recommenced last week. This means that today Lombok is served with direct international flights from both Singapore and Malaysia. Not only is this relaunched Singapore route a handy gateway for those based in Singapore, it allows for smooth transfers across the globe with bags checked all the way through to Lombok.
Air Asia is expected to fly from both Melbourne and Perth direct in early 2023. These international flights are accompanied by daily domestic flights from across Indonesia including both Jakarta and Bali.
Pre-pandemic, Lombok was experiencing 20% year-on-year growth in terms of tourism arrivals and has been the fastest-growing tourism market in the region. We expect this newly added airlift to push Lombok to new heights as the region continues to reopen to travel.
What’s Happening in Lombok
Pullman Lombok Resort suite
The 2022 Superbike World Championship Pirelli is almost here. Whether you are a superbike fan or not, the Moto GP puts Lombok on the map as well as attracts world-class infrastructure and in turn offers a huge tourism boost.
Earlier this month, the Mandalika circuit also hosted the Shell Eco-marathon; a global academic programme challenging teams from over 50 countries to design and build energy-efficient cars.
October also celebrated the Lombok IRONMAN triathlon, attracting athletes from around the world. IRONMAN is seen as the most well-known brand for triathlon and these events bring in new international visitors to the island attracted by health and wellness.
Pullman hotel has officially opened its doors. It is the first globally recognised 5* hotel to open in South Lombok and puts the area on the map for many overseas visitors.
