As we move further into 2026, we’re pleased to share an update on one of our Samara Hills villas, now entering its final phase of completion.
This home represents our Tropical Organic Modern philosophy — a refined balance of clean architectural lines, raw natural textures and warm tones. Contemporary in design, yet grounded in the landscape and cultural character of Lombok.
More importantly, it reflects the full plot-to-villa journey that defines Samara Hills. From infrastructure and master planning through to detailing, finishes and landscaping, this villa is a tangible expression of the quality, consistency and long-term vision shaping the wider community.
As we finalise these last stages, it stands as a clear example of what clients can expect as Samara Hills continues to mature.

Elevated enough to retain the estate’s signature ocean views, OG10 provides a unique “garden-to-glass” experience, with immediate access to the winding limestone trails that lead to the Farm-to-Table restaurant and the new Samara Hills Hotel. It is an ideal choice for those looking to build a sanctuary that prioritises wellness, privacy, and a direct connection to the land.
Case Study: A Client Journey at Samara Hills

The development of this Samara Hills villa reflects the full journey from technical design to completed structure. It shows how architectural vision is translated into built reality within the wider resort framework, balancing individual expression with the integrity of the masterplan.
The Design Stage

The project was guided by the client’s commitment to our Tropical Organic Modern philosophy. The aim was to create contemporary architecture that remains grounded in the natural beauty and cultural character of Lombok.
The residence was positioned carefully within the hillside so that it integrates with its surroundings rather than standing apart. Materials such as warm timbers and natural stone were selected to strengthen this connection to the landscape and to ensure the villa will age well over time.
The layout prioritises indoor and outdoor living. Open-plan spaces, generous openings and layered views maximise natural light while maintaining a strong visual connection to the ocean and surrounding environment. The result is a home that feels calm, open and anchored to its setting.
The Construction Stage

From breaking ground through to structural completion, the build has progressed with steady and disciplined execution. With estate infrastructure now fully operational, coordination of materials and trades has been efficient and consistent with our standards.
The transition from foundational works to the installation of full-height glazing marks a significant milestone. At this stage, the architectural intent becomes tangible, and the broader Samara masterplan begins to feel real.
The villa is now entering its final phase of exterior and interior refinement. As finishes, landscaping and detailing are completed, the original design vision is being fully realised.
We are pleased to share a selection of progress photographs below.

Growth in Lombok

Surf at Selong Belanak Beach, just 10 minutes from Samara
The momentum in South Lombok has reached a fever pitch this month, with several major international milestones confirming the island’s trajectory as the next global “it” destination.
The “Darwin-Direct” Era Begins: TransNusa has officially announced direct flights between Darwin and Lombok. This 3.5-hour connection is a game-changer for the Australian market, allowing high-net-worth travellers to bypass Bali entirely. Government officials have confirmed that Perth and Bangkok routes are next on the 2026 roadmap.
European Confidence in Lombok: Building on the region’s premium status, Sapo Development (a Spanish-backed group) has officially broken ground on a luxury “experiential” villa project within the Mandalika Special Economic Zone. This €2.76M investment signals a growing appetite from European institutional capital for South Lombok’s coastline.
Diversified Racing Returns: The GT World Challenge Asia returns to the Mandalika International Circuit this May. Beyond the sport, this event is a key economic driver for the villa rental market, as it draws a high-spending “luxury automotive” demographic to the south coast outside of the MotoGP peak season.
Infrastructure Transparency: The provincial government has fully rolled out the INTRAS platform, a digital transparency tool that allows investors to track the status of public road, water, and power projects. This surge in governance is significantly reducing the “risk premium” for international investors.
Global Accolades: For the second year running, Lombok has been highlighted by major travel outlets as a top-tier global destination, specifically praised for its “authentic luxury” and lack of over-tourism currently challenging neighbouring islands.
